The
Drawing Express package includes a selection of commands
for use by the landscape architect, which have been
developed in collaboration with UK based landscaping
companies.
This section of the software can be used in the production
of drawings and reports for everything from garden design
to larger commercial schemes. |
Using the National Planting Specification (N.P.S.) as
a background, the software contains information on over
1400 species of plants, and is capable of being continually
updated to suit the needs of the user and the planting
stock available. This allows complete flexibility in
choice of plant and therefore of design.
The database can contain significant details about each
plant chosen, such as the age, height, root, girth and
density, cost and availability can also be added, giving
an intelligent drawing which can be used to create detailed
reports on your scheme. |

| Designing
your project using Drawing Express is simple. Firstly
the survey can either be manually entered using data
collected from site, it can be scanned in and traced
if you have an existing paper copy, or imported from
another CAD system via DXF or DWG formats. |

When the basic drawing is done, shrubs can be added
individually as specimens, or can be used to create
beds.
The system will measure the area of any shape or size
of bed, adding the chosen plant at a given density;
this information is then used in the plant report.
As well as beds filled with a single type of plant,
they can also be created with a mix of up to 12 different
plants being added to the bed area in one go. |
| Trees
and conifers can be added to your design either individually
or grouped together and, as with all Drawing Express
drawings, can be freely edited, moved or copied around
the drawing allowing any scheme to be easily modified
to fit your clients needs. |
Drawing Express can also be used to detail climbers,
bulb planting, hedges, grassed areas and hard landscaping
on your design. When your design is complete reports
can be generated on either the whole project or specific
smaller areas as required.
Every aspect of the drawing can be interrogated from
an individual plant type, i.e. shrubs or climbers to
a report containing the details about every plant in
the scheme.
Cost reports can be produced, giving an instant idea
on the overall price of your design, and the design
can then quickly and easily be altered accordingly to
fit the clients budget. |

Reports
produced in Drawing Express can be printed onto you
drawing, shown on the screen, or exported to other programmes
such as Microsoft Excel for further work.
When the design is finalised and the reports generated
the drawing can be printed out, and with the addition
of colour, scanned images, pictures from a digital camera,
and notes a beautiful presentation drawing can be produced.
